billion in losses. Opinion Research Corporation Survey (for
Image Data) found that 1 in 5 households had experienced
identity theft.
Canadian Security and Intelligence
Service found that 43% of American Corporations have had an
average of six incidents of corporate espionage resulting in
losses of $45 billion from trade theft in 1999 alone, and that
employees are responsible for 85% of the corporate
espionage.
According to the White House Office of
Science and Technology, 2001 corporate espionage, theft of
such intellectual property as designs, marketing plans,
manufacturing processes, prototypes, formulas, and software
codes, costs US companies $100 billion annually in lost sales.
